Paediatric Occupational Therapy Service — Mid North Coast Local Health District

Located at Camden Haven Community Health, this service supports children of all ages who have difficulties or delays involving sensory processing, motor skills, handwriting, self-care, visual perception or pretend play. Parents, health professionals, education staff and community workers can refer. Waiting periods and priority arrangements may apply; children with NDIS funding are encouraged to arrange private occupational therapy through their funding.

The Play Therapist

Registered occupational therapist Clay Day provides child-centred play therapy for children aged 3–8 from a West Haven playroom near Laurieton. Occupational therapy is also available in homes, preschools, schools and community settings, alongside support for parents.

Creative Education and Support

Children aged 0–15 with disability, developmental delay or neurodiversity can access one-to-one, play-based early childhood intervention across Laurieton, Kendall and other Mid North Coast localities. Sessions are delivered by early childhood and primary teachers with allied health assistants.

Young people aged 12–18 in Port Macquarie and Kempsey who are at risk of homelessness can receive no-cost assistance with housing, family issues and wellbeing. Case management, service connections and outreach at home or in the community may also be available.

headspace Port Macquarie

Young people aged 12–25 can access free, confidential help with mental health, physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drugs, and work or study concerns. Young people, parents and carers can contact the centre about an appointment; clients under 16 require signed consent from a parent or guardian before attending.
